Comments

I've been getting some spam in the comments. Not much, but enough so that I changed the moderation to only allow comments from registered users. I hate those "read the letters" things so I havn't done that.

I don't know how many of y'all have read my books, but as an incentive to register, I'l l see if I can track down your address for the next 10 or so comments (of some kind of substance) and send you an autographed copy of one of my books (of your choice).

I've been reading your blog since its inception, so I'll try to win the book. Your first book is one of my favorites. Not sure if this counts as substance!

I'm curious about what makes for "substance", but I'd love an autographed copy of your book.

It's not a contest.

I just something other than "I want one" or "This is a great blog".

In this thread it might be something about how to screen spam using blogger.

In another thread it might be some example about how stupid David is or the dangers of small pairs.

You know, substance. Something that uses a lot of keywords that search engines like would be good.

I don't have an intelligent comment. I just love reading anyone who can so cleanly pick out the logic holes of so-called reputable poker pros.

Oh maybe one question. In a tourney like Poker After Dark, when down to the final two, should a chop (or partial chop with some money to play for) be based strictly on stack size? Is there a case or situation when you would not accept this type of deal?

Would love to read your holdem book.

Being an Omaha player and a fan of your comments since Iggy makes them parts of his "uber-posts" weekly, I'd love to learn how to play Hold Em' from a different perspective then the 2+2 books.

Funny, I was searching on Amazon for your Hold Em book the other day.

Like Drizz, I have enjoyed some of your comments on other blogs. A refreshing to-the-point view that many lack.

Call someone stupid is not a crime when they are in fact stupid.

I don't sift through the 2+2 archives because Iggy does that, but his reposting threads from there with your comments is a nice part of his content. You may want to consider to post your take on 2+2 conversations here more so in the future.

The squiggly letters are a nuisance, and I think most blog readers are use to them by now. If you did turn them on, I don't think it would impact the volume of comments you'd get by much, Especially if you keep offering free incentives to commenters.

I've been using haloscan for comments for quite some time. Though I moderate my comments (approve after they've been submitted, but before they're published).
